Happy May everyone – May is National Walking Month! So I would like to encourage and challenge you to walk this May as much as you can!

We have an exciting month ahead. This weekend some of us will go the the Rustick Nordic Walking Festival in Derbyshire to experience the buzz of Nordic Walking with lots of like minded people and discover new areas and new Nordic Walking related activities.  Find out all about later this month and perhaps it will seduce you to go to the Purbeck Festival in September, some of us have  already booked to go. There is a fantastic progressive course coming up in June on Thursdays to condition walkers for longer and hillier walks which was requested by those that enroled to do the Purbeck Marathon in September, it’s open to all who fancy longer distances. More details below. Big thank you again to Caroline and please keep booking her walks.  There are some lovely walks in the Fladbury area now added to our routes.  Lots of things coming up over the next few months, too.

Trek Fit and Workout Nordic Style on Fridays


Trek Fit – Nordic Circuits on the move & now Workout Nordic Style:  Fridays 10am Stratford upon Avon
For those who have completed the Learn to Nordic walk course – these action packed one hour walks are designed to help you to improve your fitness levels and gain FAST results.  Please read detailed description. Those sessions are suitable for most. Please check with me if you are unsure.


NEW: Stratford Wellbeing Group

Starting Fridays, 11:30 – 12:15
Nordic Wellbeing will take you on a fun journey to improved health and runs from 11th May – 25th May.

You will learn how to be fit and strong enough to enjoy taking on new activities and challenges with confidence


Key points that will be addressed in these sessions:

Cardiovascular fitness – being able to carry out everyday tasks with reduced demand on your cardiovascular system (getting up stairs or hills without getting out of breath)

Muscular Strength – improved muscle strength and function to be able to take on tasks without injury and strain (gardening, playing with grandkids, carrying shopping)

Posture – improved muscle balance and posture to reduce strain on joints (walking better, standing longer)

Balance / Reaction – improving those to reduce likelihood of a fall Flexibility – increased flexibility and improved joint range of motion

– improved mood and increased abilitiy to deal with stress (reduce stress chemicals, encourage restful sleep, warding of depression)

These sessions get you set up and ready to go on many more adventures!

Speed Walking Group

Started after Easter and has been great fun!


Gentle Short Walks

These require no Freedom passport and are a gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter! Suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks. These have been a huge success, especially with our newer members. Thank you all for coming along to those! They take place once a week, various days.


Evening Walks

Starting at 6:30pm, soon to start 7pm – Come and join us after a long day at work or stuck in the house, you’ll love it.
