How to get some spring into your step

This must have been the longest winter for many of us in South Warwickshire and Worcestershire for a long time!

Just the last couple of days I have felt that lovely sunshine in my face whilst out Nordic Walking. Those mild temperatures just want to make you go outside and breathe in that warm air!  That fantastically warm feeling inside me that lets me know that I’m alive gets so very intense this time of year. Although, having been out Nordic Walking in and around South Warwickshire and more recently Worcestershire throughout the winter months, it feels a little bit like coming out of hibernation to me.

 

Spring time

 

Only yesterday, when taking a group of keen Nordic Walkers on an Adventure Walk in near Alcester, all of us noticed the indisputable signs of spring.  Nature has woken up: we saw plenty of primroses, catkins yellow blooming daffodils along the river, busy birds building their nests and attracting the opposite sex with their beautiful song.

 

 

 

Nordic Walking, if done correctly, really does give you a spring into your step! The correct technique will give your walk a little bounce and ensures you are engaging 90% of your skeletal muscles which means you will burn up to 46% calories more compared to ordinary walking. Isn’t that great news? Spring has finally arrived and there is this fantastic way of toning up, losing some weight whilst enjoying the spring sunshine. Our Learn To Nordic Walk courses are suitable for most fitness levels and take you on a fun journey to improving your fitness through learning the correct technique of Nordic Walking. Once graduated from this course participants will be able to join all Nordic Walking activities with any Nordic Walking UK qualified instructor across the country through the FREEDOM passport (issued after completion of the LTNW course). They are held in Alcester, Evesham and Stratford upon Avon.

 

 

 

 

There is also the option of joining the Nordic Wellbeing Group.  This is for people that want to start exercising again after rehabilitation, feel very unfit but don’t want to join the gym or perhaps have a medical condition that prevents them from certain exercise.  “Nordic Wellbeing” is a gentle introduction to exercise and the start of a journey to improving overall health.  Please contact Kathrin first to see which course is the most appropriate before making your choice.  Of course, these classes are not exclusively
